About the Inclusion & Diversity Committee

The VP for Finance Inclusion & Diversity Committee is a leadership body that works to continually promote, cultivate, and deepen an inclusive and diverse environment within the VP for Finance reporting units. The Committee's twofold mission is to:

  • Nurture and encourage the division's inclusive and diverse culture - one characterized by mutual respect and understanding, shared responsibility, civility and sensitivity, open dialogue, curiosity, and the embrace of the rich array of perspectives, disciplines, and backgrounds encountered each day; and
  • Ensure this environment becomes integrated into and foundational for our execution of day-to-day activities, pursuit and achievement of short-term and long-range goals, and development, measurement and evaluation of the Office's progress toward its strategic objectives and in support of the University Strategic Plan.

The Committee provides guidance to the VP for Finance and senior financial leadership in the establishment of short-term and long-term goals, strategies, and action plans to enhance the climate of inclusion and diversity.

The Committee meets monthly and its membership comprises both faculty and staff from all levels of the organization, including at least one representative from each VP for Finance reporting unit.
