Our Offices & Departments

The Vice President for Finance has responsibility for each of
the following offices and departments:


Ensures financial integrity in the cash management of University funds and provides exceptional customer service to the University community while helping students assume financial responsibility for their education.

Capital Assets and Financial Management

Lead strategic planning and budgeting for the advancement of major capital outlay improvements and capital assets and to continue improvement efforts of financial management processes across the enterprise.


Provides fiscal services to the university and serves as an interface with external agencies for fiscal matters.

Finance Information Technology

Offers innovative, reliable, and secure technological and decision support services to advance Virginia Tech.

Hokie Passport Services

Provides official university credentials and efficient access to a wide variety of innovative, effective, and secure systems and services to the Virginia Tech community and its affiliates.

Office of Budget and Financial Planning

Supports university leadership in identifying, obtaining, and allocating resources needed to achieve the University’s mission and goals of the University Strategic Plan.


Provides efficient and responsive procurement and surplus services and obtains high quality goods and services for Virginia Tech at reasonable costs.

Risk Management

Handles all insurance matters for the university, provides risk analysis for university activities, and manages the Student Medical Insurance Program.

University Treasurer

Provides leadership for the investment and cash management, and debt management functions of the university.
