The Division of Finance has responsibility for each of the following departments:

Supports university leadership in identifying, obtaining, and allocating resources needed to achieve the University’s mission and goals of the University Strategic Plan.

Advances the university's capital program and coordinates the financial planning and budgeting of capital projects.

Provides fiscal services to the university and serves as an interface with external agencies for fiscal matters.

Offers innovative, reliable, and secure technological and decision support services to advance Virginia Tech.

Coordinates continuous improvement of business processes, develops operational and business plans for university stakeholders, supports data analytics and business intelligence efforts for Finance and administrative units, and delivers comprehensive training to fiscal staff throughout the university.

Provides efficient and responsive procurement and surplus services and obtains high quality goods and services for Virginia Tech at reasonable costs.

This office oversees critical real estate functions, including university leasing, property acquisitions and conveyances, easements, facility use agreements, and employee housing arrangements.

Handles all insurance matters for the university, provides risk analysis for university activities, and manages the Student Medical Insurance Program.

This department includes both the bursar and treasury teams and focuses on ensuring financial integrity in the cash management of university funds, leading the university's working capital management and investment, cash management, banking activities, payment card compliance, debt issuance and debt management, and providing exceptional customer service to students and the university community.
