Lauren Lawson

Lauren Lawson serves as the Assistant Vice President for Treasury Operations and University Bursar at Virginia Tech, providing leadership for the university’s billing, collections, receivables, cash management, and working capital investment functions. Her work supports the university’s financial stability and commitment to service excellence.

Joining the Bursar’s Office in 2005, she has held progressively senior roles before assuming the position of University Bursar in 2020, gaining broad experience in university systems, regulatory compliance, and process improvement. In 2025, her role was expanded to include treasury operations.

In her current capacity, she oversees financial operations that ensure accurate billing and collection, strong internal controls, and compliance with PCI DSS, the Red Flags Rule, GLBA, Title IV cash management, and other applicable regulations. She also leads modernization efforts, advances automation initiatives, and guides strategic projects that strengthen the financial integrity of student and university accounts.

She holds a Master of Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Virginia Tech.
