Lisa Blackwell joined Virginia Tech as Director of Finance Information Technology and Innovation in October 2021. In her role, she oversees the technology used to support all aspects of Division of Finance business and drives the strategy for leveraging digital services within the division. Her team provides comprehensive technology services to the senior management area, including operational and infrastructure support, information security of sensitive data, innovative application development, and process optimization.
Prior to her current role, Blackwell served more than a decade at Radford University, most recently as Director of Enterprise Systems from 2016-2020, where she had oversight of the Enterprise applications, integrations, reporting, analytics and database administration.
Blackwell is a certified Project Management Professional and a current member of the Project Management Institute. She is also an alum of the Educause Management Institute and the SACUBO College Business Management Institute.
Blackwell is a two-time Virginia Tech graduate, earning a Master of Science degree in Education, Business and Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Information Technology Education.
